Commuter Convoy
New to bike or walk commuting?
A commuter convoy can help! A commuter convoy is led by an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes of bike or walk commuting. Simply show up at the designated start time and location, on foot or by bike, and the commuter convoy leader will:
• Give you tips on a good route
• Teach you how to stay safe
• Show you equipment that makes the commute easy
Commuter convoys are made for beginners - but commuters of any skill level are encouraged to join. The more the merrier! Most commuter convoys end up at Rice Park in Downtown St. Paul or the Hennepin County Government Plaza in Downtown Minneapolis. Check this website for commuter convoy routes, as they form.

How to Setup your own Convoy
- Pick a starting location for your Commuter Convoy (e.g., The Greenway and West Rider Road, the Depot in Hopkins, the Lake Harriet Band shell, etc.). Coffee shops make good meet-up spots, but any spot where people with bikes will be comfortable gathering will do fine. One idea is to meet at a celebration location.
- Recruit people to join you. Neighbors or friends that work near you or coworkers that live near you are great targets. You can download a Commuter Convoy Poster and ask to put it up near your starting location.
- Let us know your route; starting and ending location and starting time, and we will post it on the Bike Walk Week Website.
- On Bike Walk to Work Day, June 10th lead your convoy.
